Rosy Hardy is one of Britain's most influential plantswomen and the founder of Hardy's Cottage Garden Plants, one of the country's leading specialist perennial nurseries. Established in 1988, the Hampshire-based nursery has become internationally renowned for the quality of its plants, its commitment to sustainable, peat-free production and its influence on contemporary planting design.

Throughout her career, Rosy has achieved exceptional success at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, where Hardy's Cottage Garden Plants has been awarded 24 Gold Medals, earning the RHS Master Grower accolade and establishing the nursery as one of the most successful exhibitors in the show's history. In recognition of her outstanding contribution to horticulture, she was appointed an Honorary Vice President of the Royal Horticultural Society.

In 2026 Rosy was awarded the RHS Alan Bloom award for her achievements in respect of herbaceous plants, presented by the RHS Herbaceous Plant Expert Group

Alongside leading the nursery, Rosy is a respected lecturer, author and plant breeder, with decades of experience introducing outstanding perennial varieties to British gardens. At The English Gardening School, she tutors on the Good Gardening and Garden Design Diplomas, sharing an unrivalled depth of knowledge in herbaceous perennials, plant selection and propagation.
