Richard Miers is one of Britain's leading contemporary garden designers, with 30 years of experience creating award-winning private gardens across the UK and internationally. His work spans everything from intimate London courtyards and roof terraces to large country estates and has recently been recognised in World's Best: 50 Gardens from Around the Globe, a prestigious international showcase of exceptional residential garden design.
After studying Garden Design at Merrist Wood College, Richard spent a decade working alongside the acclaimed designer Arne Maynard before establishing his own practice in 2006. Since then, he has become widely recognised for gardens that combine elegant structure with refined planting, earning a reputation for creating timeless landscapes that respond beautifully to both architecture and place.
Richard has represented the United Kingdom at the Gardening World Cup in Nagasaki, Japan, won best show garden at the Suzhou Flower Show China, in 2024, designed show gardens for House & Garden and the Daily Telegraph, won the People's Choice Award at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, and has twice been named among Country & Town House's Finest Garden & Landscape Designers.
