Gillian Lotter graduated from The English Gardening School with Distinction in 1999 and has built a distinguished career combining garden design, consultancy and education. Having experienced the School first as a student, she brings a unique understanding of the EGS approach to teaching, alongside decades of professional practice and a genuine passion for helping others develop their confidence in garden design.

Alongside tutoring on The English Gardening School's distance learning courses, Gillian teaches garden design across a range of levels, supporting students as they develop both the technical skills and creative thinking needed to design successful gardens. Her clear, thoughtful approach has helped countless aspiring designers build the knowledge and confidence to take the next step in their horticultural journey.

In private practice, Gillian has worked on a diverse range of residential projects, specialising in garden design consultation. Her work is centred on creating beautiful, practical outdoor spaces that enrich everyday life, carefully balancing the aspirations of her clients with the character and potential of each site.
