WOBURN ABBEY GARDEN SHOW – AUGUST 2012
Congratulations to EGS graduate George Long, one of three designers chosen to build a garden for The Woburn Abbey Garden Show last month. Each participant was given a 5.4m x 5.4m plot, budget of £1000 for building materials and all plants supplied by the sponsor. Undoubtedly influenced by all things British this year . . George chose a design that would be current with clean lines and heaps of colour by translating part of The Union Jack into his garden.
With additional help from friends and family and two quarter tonne sundials, kindly loaned by David Harber the 5 day build was worth the hard work with comments such as “delicious!!!”, “that just makes me smile” and especially won the praises of The Duchess of Bedford.
“It has been an immense achievement” says George “and it would never have happened without training at The English Gardening School.”
